Real situations. Real language.
Before Kickoff
The two teams line up in their formations. The referee calls the captains to the center circle for the coin toss. The winner chooses which end to attack. Both teams return to their halves. The whistle blows — the match begins.
The Goal
The striker receives a through ball in the box. He takes one touch to control, cuts to his left to beat the defender, and drives the ball low into the far corner. The net ripples. The stadium erupts.
Referee Calls
The referee controls the match with whistle and cards. Players must know the calls — and the language to argue respectfully (or not so respectfully).
Positions on the Field
Every position has its own set of responsibilities and calls. Knowing how to say your position — and your teammates' — is essential communication.
Halftime — The Tactical Talk
The coach gathers the team in the tunnel. Fifteen minutes to rest, regroup, and adjust. The captain speaks first. Then the coach draws on the whiteboard.
